You Don’t Need Hours to Create—Just a Few Minutes and a Lot of Love

Hey creative mama,

If you’ve ever looked at your messy house, a fussy baby, your to-do list (and maybe that cold cup of coffee), and thought “I’ll never have time to create again”…

I feel you.

But I want to share something that changed everything for me:

You don’t need hours. You just need a few minutes—and a whole lot of love.

Tiny Pockets of Time = Big Creative Wins

When I first started drawing kawaii art, I had zero free time. My baby was little, my house was chaotic, and my brain was mush. But I had a sketchpad—and the tiniest sliver of motivation. So I gave myself permission to create in small bursts.

5 minutes while my son played with toys.

10 minutes after bedtime.

15 minutes during a rare, quiet nap.

That’s all I had—but that’s all I needed.

Creativity Isn’t About Time—It’s About Intention

You don’t need a studio. You don’t need a full hour.

You just need a moment to say: “This is for me.”

And in those small, sacred moments, something beautiful happens.

You reconnect with your creative spirit. You remember who you are outside of dishes and diaper changes. And you show yourself—and your child—that dreams are worth making time for.

Start Small, Stay Consistent

If you’re not sure where to start, here are some easy, loving ways to add creativity to your day:

Draw a tiny doodle while your baby snacks.

Color in your sketchbook with your toddler (they’ll love joining in!).
Jot down an idea in your phone notes while folding laundry.
Take a photo of something that makes you smile and save it for inspiration.
Plan your art week with your morning tea—even if it’s one project.

The key? Don’t wait for perfect. Show up anyway.

It’s Not About Perfection—It’s About Presence

You might not finish a masterpiece today. That’s okay.

You showed up. You gave yourself love in the form of creativity. That matters.

So to every busy, beautiful mom out there—don’t give up on your creativity just because your time is limited. You are allowed to create in the cracks of the day. In between the chaos. In the calm. In the messy middle of motherhood.

You don’t need hours.

You need you.

If this spoke to you, save this blog post as your gentle reminder.

You’re doing great, mama. Keep creating. One doodle at a time.
